Covid-19 diagnostics

The current Covid-19 situation is forcing us to follow many hygienic procedures and is presently changing all our lives. In food processing plants, as in all companies, risk assessments are being defined for each respective workplace and precautionary measures taken. Many food companies are also establishing testing strategies (beyond the legal requirements) for the part of the workforce that cannot work continuously in the home office.

These examinations are outside of the testing mandated by regulation and help to identify symptomless carriers and to protect the workforce. Studies have shown that the environment of a patient infected with SARS-CoV-2 was contaminated by respiratory droplets. It cannot be ruled out that these contaminated environmental surfaces contribute to the transmission of viral infections.
